Wildlife Encounters
IN THE LAND OF KENYA’S BIG CATS
Explore Kenya’s most predator-rich landscapes on a safari designed for travelers who want more than just a checklist trip. Search for lions in the wild plains of Samburu, stand face to face with endangered rhinos at Ol Pejeta, and experience the kind of raw African wilderness most people only see in documentaries. Stay in authentic safari camps, wake up to the sounds of the bush, and spend your days following some of Africa’s most iconic wildlife with expert guides who know these lands inside out. This is not a rushed tourist safari — it’s a real journey into the heart of wild Kenya.
ITINERARY
Day 1
Arrive in Nairobi
Land in Kenya and feel the energy of Africa immediately. After your airport pickup, relax at your hotel before the adventure begins. Depending on arrival time, explore Nairobi’s nightlife, local restaurants, or enjoy your first African sunset.
Day 2
Into Wild Samburu
Leave the city behind and drive north into the dramatic landscapes of Samburu. Dry riverbeds, acacia trees, and red earth create a completely different side of Kenya. Your first evening game drive begins with a real chance of spotting leopards stretched across tree branches or lions preparing for the hunt.
Day 3
Samburu Predator Territory
Wake before sunrise as the bush comes alive. Spend the day tracking Samburu’s famous predators along the Ewaso Nyiro River. This is raw safari country — fewer vehicles, wild scenery, and serious wildlife action. Expect elephants crossing the river, cheetahs scanning the plains, and crocodiles waiting silently below.
Day 4
Rhino Country at Ol Pejeta
Travel south into the green highlands of Laikipia and enter Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of Kenya’s best wildlife success stories. Afternoon safari drives bring close encounters with rhinos, buffalo, elephants, and lions across wide-open plains backed by Mount Kenya
Day 5
Full Safari Day in Ol Pejeta
Spend the entire day exploring the conservancy with expert guides who know every corner of the reserve. Search for black rhinos, visit the chimpanzee sanctuary, and head out after dark for an optional night drive where hyenas, servals, and predators become active under the African sky.
Day 6
Journey to the Masai Mara
Today you head toward the legendary Masai Mara, Kenya’s greatest wildlife destination. The landscape opens into endless golden plains filled with zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and predators. Your first Mara game drive often delivers action immediately — lions sleeping under acacias or cheetahs hunting at sunset.
Day 7
Big Cats of the Mara
This is the safari day people dream about. Follow lion prides across the plains, watch cheetahs stalk through the grass, and search riverbanks for massive crocodiles and hippos. During migration season, thousands of wildebeest thunder across the Mara in one of Earth’s greatest wildlife spectacles.
Day 8
Exclusive Conservancy Safari
Escape the crowds and explore quieter conservancy areas bordering the Mara. Off-road tracking and fewer vehicles mean better wildlife encounters and incredible photography opportunities. End the day with drinks around the fire as hyenas call through the darkness.
Day 9
Sunrise Over the Mara
Start before dawn when predators are most active. Optional hot air balloon flights reveal the Mara from above as herds move across the plains below. After breakfast in the bush, enjoy a final afternoon safari searching for the cats you may have missed.
Day 10
Farewell Kenya
One last sunrise in the African bush before returning to Nairobi. The dust, wildlife, sunsets, and sounds of Kenya stay with you long after the safari ends.
